Welcome to Linville Falls Winery. We’re a family owned and operated vineyard and winery in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. Linville Falls is a small community located on mile marker #317 of the Blue Ridge Parkway, and named after the iconic waterfall just a few minutes’ drive from our farm. We are part of the Appalachian High Country viticulture area that is characterized by higher elevation vineyards with warm days and cool evenings, which give way to happy grapes, and in turn, delicious wine.

The Skyline Village Inn has been a landmark adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway for 70 years. In 1938 John Greer bought the land next to the Parkway and started making moonshine in a cavern just off the road on what is now NC 226 Alt. The US Government had begun construction of the Parkway only 3 years prior and had plans to construct a bridge over NC 26 (now 226A). John made plans to construct a gas station and store alongside the Parkway. He funded these plans with the money he made selling moonshine.

Homeplace opened in 2017 with a love for craft beer and a hope of connecting a changing world with a deep admiration of our region’s past.

Our mountains are home to a rich history of farming and homesteading, a people of thrifty innovation and determined grit, and a geography of lofty hills, rolling creeks and shady hollows to explore.

As larger towns overflow nearby, the past few years have brought fresh opportunities to showcase Yancey County’s beauty and cultural history. We hope to use this moment to embrace the positive changes in our community while also paying respect to those who came before who made this such a desirable place to live and visit.

Tennessee Hills began with a passion for making quality liquor, founded on hard work and community—the rugged spirit. Stephen and Jessica Callahan are Washington County natives, and can’t imagine calling anywhere else home. The Callahan’s graduated from college with degrees in Biology and Chemistry, but decided a 9 to 5 in a white lab coat was not the end goal. Stephen’s heart lay in crafting spirits. The Callahan’s stopped at nothing to make their dreams a reality. They put in long hours, doing everything the business required, even making stills. The TN Hills Distillery opened in the historic Salt House of Jonesborough in 2016. As the distillery started to have success, Scott and Daphene Andrew walked through their doors. This entrepreneurial duo immediately saw the potential in TN Hills.
