Motorcycle Ride Information

The Catawba Coyote motorcycle ride starts and travels the same route as the Roan Mountain Run 261 traveling to the small Blue Ridge town of Bakersville North Carolina where you continue through the town for many miles until you reach the mining and railroad town of Spruce Pine.

Spruce Pine offers many places to stop downtown for a variety of foods and drink such as a coffee shop, Thai, Mexican, gastropub, bar and grill, and 50s classic diner. Coming out of Spruce Pine you will take a left onto 19E and travel 22 miles along the North Toe River with twists, curves, turns, tight corners, winding roads, lush forest , and small mountain secluded towns.

After passing the Cranberry old brick school on the right you get to a stop sign where you take another left turn passing Elk River Depot on the right side then passing the small town of Elk Park NC. If your up for a small hike and beautiful waterfalls take the right hand turn and follow the signs for Elk River Falls.

Continuing on 19E out of Elk Park you will cross the state line in to Tennessee. If you ready for a cold beer you can stop at the Station 19E or eat at the brick oven bakery Smoky Mountain Bakers which offers organic pizza and fresh bakery items daily. In the town of Roan Mountain there are a few choices for gas and repairs if needed. Right about now you will be in time for supper and a delicious steak meal at the Americano Restaurant.

The name for this ride was created beacuse of the actions and behaviors of the local coyote packs in NC and TN. They are everywhere and so fast you dont see them. Which is exactly like this motorycle ride you are everywhere riding fast through twists and turns and all over the mountains.
